New Sleeve Requirements
As you finish your quilt and attach the sleeve, please consider using the new sleeve technique designed to work with the new hanging system we are going to use for this year's show. Although only a small part of our show will use the new system, we will be evaluating this system for further use in upcoming ECQG shows. It is clearly going to become the predominant hanging hardware for quilt shows in the future, so now is a good time to switch over. Click here for a link to the sleeve instructions on the AQS website.
The new sleeve is not required for Georgia Celebrates Quilts 2009, but we strongly encourage you to adopt this method of a tube sleeve for two reasons. First, the new method moves the sleeve down a bit, so there is no chance of it showing above the top of your quilt. Second, the new sleeve has 1/2" of fullness to accommodate the clip in the new hardware and still allow your quilt to hang flat and straight.
If you've already attached your sleeve and it has 1/2" of fullness, is more than 1/2" below the top of the quilt and is a tube sleeve, then your sleeve will perform like the AQS sleeve, and meet the requirements for the national shows.
