Present your quilt in its best light
When you submit your quilt you must send 2 pictures. One full view and one close-up showing detail. Take your time here. These should be good pictures that show off the quilt. The following tips are from an experienced quilt photographer:
- To hang the quilt, use a long, straight rod inserted through the 4” sleeve.
- No hands, fingers, legs or dogs allowed in the picture.
- Place camera on a tripod if possible.
- Take the picture outside on a slightly hazy, absolutely windless day.
- Position the camera directly in front of the quilt so it will look straight, not distorted.
- If you want to celebrate the quilting, add some additional side lighting.
- Crop the photo so only the quilt shows, not the garage door.
Entry Deadline: June 30, 2009
